Mumbai: 56-Year-Old Man Kills Live-In Partner, Chops Body Into Pieces, Boils Them In Cooker​

In an incident similar to Shraddha Walkar's murder case, a 36-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her 56-year-old partner before cutting her body into pieces.

As per the police, the accused Manoj Sahni killed Saraswati Vaidya three or four days back and after that, he purchased a tree-cutter to chop her body into pieces.

Police say that the accused boiled pieces of her body in a pressure cooker and later filled them into plastic bags to dispose of them. They further say that over 12-13 pieces of the woman's body were recovered from the site.

The couple had been living in flat 704 at Geeta Akash Deep building in Geeta Nagar Phase 7 over the past three years, according to a report in India Today.

The cops knocked on the doors of his house after neighbours alerted them about a foul smell emanating from his flat on Wednesday evening.

"Manoj Sahani and Saraswati Vaidya were in a live-in relationship and used to live in the Geeta Akash Deep building. The couple had a fight over some matter following which the woman was murdered by her partner. Her body was cut into pieces with a cutter. When we reached the house and opened the door, we understood it was a case of murder and the suspect tried to hide the evidence, " the website quoted Jayant Bajbale, deputy commissioner of police (zone 1), as saying.

The cops are yet to find out the motive behind the murder and the reason why he dismembered her body.

Last year, Shraddha Walkar, a girl from Mumbai, was murdered by her boyfriend Aaftab Poonawala in Delhi. He had cut her body into 35 pieces after strangling her to death. Although he killed her in May, the incident came to light months later.
