Telugu Reality Show Choreographer Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Stepdaughter

A choreographer from a Telugu reality show has been arrested for sexually assaulting his stepdaughter, the Times of India reported.

The Gachibowli police took the accused from Bengaluru and brought him to Hyderabad two weeks ago but the issue came to light only on Sunday. Based on a complaint filed by his wife, a case has been filed against the accused, whose name has not been revealed.

As per the complaint, the accused had inappropriately touched his 14-year-old stepdaughter on numerous occasions. Also, the man has allegedly harassed the woman for money.

Before lodging the complaint, the wife had sought her brother-in-law's help. As he did not intervene, she decided to lodge a complaint against the accused, who has been sent to judicial custody.

The report claims that he was arrested under section 75 (sexual harassment), 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of BNS besides violation of the POCSO Act at Gachibowli Police Station.

The incident comes months after popular choreographer Jani Master was arrested for sexually assaulting a colleague. A 21-year-old woman had accused him of repeated assaults, including incidents that allegedly occurred when she was a minor.

The case was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, along with sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 323 of the Indian Penal Code.
