Playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar has been hospitalised allegedly after trying to die by suicide. She was found unconscious at her residence in Nizampet in Hyderabad.

Kalpana Consumes Sleeping Pills

Reportedly, she tried to die by suicide by consuming sleeping pills. However, she was taken to the hospital and currently in the ventilator.

The situation came to light when the apartment's security guard alerted residents after Kalpana hadn't opened her door for two days. Concerned neighbours informed the police, who rushed to the spot and shifted her to the hospital.

Meanwhile, a video is doing rounds where the cops are seen breaking open the doors. Her husband was in Chennai at the time of the incident.

Kalpana Out Of Danger

Doctors confirmed that Kalpana had consumed sleeping pills but assured that her condition is now out of danger. However, she remains on ventilator support, and further details will be available once she regains consciousness.

Daughter of the renowned playback singer T.S. Raghavendra, Kalpana rose to fame after winning Star Singer Malayalam (2010) and has recorded over 1,500 songs in multiple languages. She has collaborated with legendary composers like Ilaiyaraaja and A.R. Rahman. Some of her recent hits include Kodi Parakura Kaalam from Maamannan and Telangana Tejam from Keshava Chandra Ramavath.

Kalpana also participated in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1 and served as a judge on several singing reality shows. The police are investigating the reasons behind her actions, with more updates awaited.
