Hyderabad Water Crisis: Supply Disruption on March 8 – Affected Areas Inside

Hyderabad is set to experience a temporary disruption in water supply on March 8, 2025, as announced by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). The interruption is due to the shifting of an existing PSC water pipeline near BHEL Junction to accommodate the construction of a flyover by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

The disruption will affect several key areas, including Erragadda, S.R. Nagar, Ameerpet, KPHB Colony, Kukatpally, Moosapet, Jagadgirigutta, RC Puram, Ashok Nagar, Jyoti Nagar, Lingampalli, Chandanagar, Gangaram, Madinaguda, Miyapur, Deepthi Sri Nagar, Beeramguda, Aminpur, and Nizampet.

In an official statement, HMWSSB assured the public that efforts are being made to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Normal water supply is expected to be restored by 6:00 PM on the same day. Residents in the affected areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance to avoid inconvenience.

This is the second major disruption in Hyderabad's water supply within 17 days, raising concerns among residents about the reliability of the city's infrastructure. Water supply interruptions have become increasingly frequent due to ongoing development projects and pipeline maintenance work.

Authorities have urged people to cooperate with the temporary inconvenience as the pipeline relocation is essential for the city's infrastructure growth. They have also emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to complete the work efficiently and restore water supply at the earliest.
