Hyderabad Viral Video: Students Find Rat In 'Chutney' At Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Mess

Hyderabad: Do you eat at the college or university hostel's mess? Then this news is for you. Recently, a video created a buzz on the internet and stunned thousands of students at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUH) in Sultanpur as it showed a live rat paddling food. According to the viral video, which is said to be from the JNTUH mess, a live rat was found in a big container of yellow color sauce (chutney) and some students recorded the disgusting scene to report and inform the matter, which may affect the health of the students.

Unhygienic food may lead to several serious diseases like food poisoning, diarrhea, uneasiness, etc. The viral video sparked outrage among students and they filed a complaint to the university officials against the mess contractor and catering staff for not serving good quality and not maintaining hygiene standards.

The video was captioned: 'Rat in the "Chutney" in the JNTUH SULTANPUR. What hygiene maintenance by the staff members is in a mess.

The disgusting video was seen by thousands of social media users and has been shared widely. Also, the comment section is flooded with criticising comments tagging university authorities to take cognizance of the mater and do not let mess contractors play with student's health by serving bad quality and unhygienic food.

"For rat it's like swimming pool swimming here and there in the vessel jokes apart it's upto the concerned authorities to inspect the hostels and take stringent action on the responsible who do negligiency at there duties."Another user commented, "80% of restaurants in Hyderabad follow the same cooking method," said a user.

Another user called the food series threat to students health. "unbelievable n completely unacceptable First, we had insects in our food, and now we've found a rat, even after an inspection was conducted. This poses a serious health risk and cannot be ignored. Immediate and thorough action is needed to address these repeated safety violations."

It was not the first time that bad-quality food was reported. Earlier also such videos surfaced over the internet from several hostel mess including the Delhi IIT, but no strict action was taken.
