Hidden Camera Found In Girls' Hostel Washroom At Gudlavalleru College In Andhra, Sparks Student Protests
In a shocking incident, a hidden camera was found in the washroom of the girls' hostel at Gudlavalleru College of Engineering in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. Disturbingly, videos recorded by the camera were reportedly circulated within the boys' hostel, leading to outrage among the students.
The discovery sparked a massive protest on Thursday night, with students raising slogans of "We want justice" as they demanded immediate action. The police quickly intervened and took into custody a final-year engineering student, suspected of being involved in the scandal.

Some reports indicate that the police have arrested Vijay Kumar, a final-year BTech student residing in the boys' hostel, in connection with the incident. His laptop has been seized, and the investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the college administration has asserted that no hidden cameras were found in the girls' hostel and affirmed their cooperation with the police investigation. They also pledged to implement enhanced security measures on campus.
According to the police, laptops, mobile phones, and other electronic devices belonging to the accused were examined in the presence of students and college staff, but no incriminating evidence was uncovered.
This case bears a chilling resemblance to the 2022 Chandigarh University incident, where similar breaches of privacy caused widespread uproar and led to nationwide discussions on student safety.
