Heavy Rain To Lash Hyderabad Outskirts As Thunderstorms Intensify Across Telangana

A spell of intense weather activity is expected to impact Hyderabad and several districts of Telangana on Thursday evening, with meteorologists warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning in multiple regions. The eastern outskirts of Hyderabad are likely to be among the worst-affected areas as storm systems gain strength across the state.

Eastern Hyderabad Areas On High Alert

Localities such as Ghatkesar, Abdullapurmet, Edulabad, Gowrelly, Pedda Amberpet, Kuntloor and Kawadipally are forecast to receive heavy rain during the evening hours. Residents have been advised to remain cautious as thunderstorms could bring sudden downpours and reduced visibility on roads.

Weather observers noted that cloud formations over South and Central Telangana have become more active than earlier anticipated, increasing the chances of severe weather conditions.

Heavy Rain Forecast For Multiple Districts

The rain-bearing system is expected to affect Yadadri-Bhongir, Jangaon, Nalgonda and Suryapet, where heavy showers may continue until around 5 pm. These districts could witness periods of intense rainfall along with thunder and lightning.

The storm activity is also likely to extend towards rural parts of Warangal, Mahabubabad and Khammam later in the day, bringing widespread rainfall to several areas.

More Regions Likely To Witness Thunderstorms

Apart from the districts under heavy rain alert, isolated thunderstorms are expected in Wanaparthy, Mahabubnagar, Vikarabad, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak and Karimnagar over the next few hours.

Forecasters have also predicted scattered rainfall during the evening and night in Hanmakonda, Mulugu, Peddapalli, Bhupalapally, Mancherial and Asifabad. Some places may witness brief but intense spells of rain.

Heatwave Conditions Continue In Northern Telangana

While many districts prepare for rainfall, northern Telangana is expected to remain under heatwave conditions. Maximum temperatures are likely to stay between 40°C and 42°C despite the ongoing weather disturbances.

Hyderabad is forecast to record temperatures between 37°C and 39°C. The city itself may experience isolated showers later in the evening, offering temporary respite from the prevailing summer heat.
