Dasara Holidays 2024: Schools Holidays In Telangana And Andhra Pradesh From This Date
The Telangana government has officially declared 13 days of holidays for Dasara and Bathukamma celebrations, commencing from October 2, which is Gandhi Jayanti, and extending through October 14. Schools will resume classes on October 15, allowing students and teachers ample time to celebrate the festivals.
In addition to the Dasara celebrations, October 2 will also mark Gandhi Jayanti, while the remaining days will be dedicated to the festivities of Dasara and Bathukamma. Recognizing Bathukamma as a significant festival in the state, the government has combined the holidays, which aligns with the academic calendar previously released on May 25. No changes have been made to the schedule, confirming the 13-day holiday period.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Andhra Pradesh, the government has also released its holiday calendar, specifying a 10-day break from October 4 to October 13 for Dasara. This holiday schedule is applicable to Christian minority institutions as well. These institutions will observe Christmas holidays from December 22 to December 29.
Furthermore, Sankranti holidays in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled from January 10 to January 19 next year. Consequently, students in the state can look forward to 10 days off for Dasara and 9 days for Sankranti.
