Assam road accident: 28 killed, several injured

in the wee hours of Thursday.

The incident happened when a speeding truck from West Bengal hit two packed mini buses. The truck rammed into the first bus, which was then hit from the rear by the second at Doholapara under Sorbhog Police Station. Both the buses overturned.

The dead included brick-kiln workers, who were going to work in brick-kilns at Rangia in Kamrup district from Kholkholi in Dhubri district with their families.

The injured were admitted to hospitals in Barpeta and Bongaigaon.

The injured were admitted to Barpeta Medical College Hospital and Bongaigaon Civil Hospital.
