BJP worker murdered in Bidar, cops cite personal rivalry

Sunil Dongre, a BJP worker from Aurad of Bidar district was found dead in the wee hours of Monday in Sonal village. Dongre was a close associate of local BJP MLA Prabhu Chowhan.
35-year-old Sunil Dongre's body was found with mutiple stab wounds near Sonal village's government primary school in Aurad. MLA Prabhu Chowhan visited the family on Monday. Police found Dongre's body in the wee hours of Monday and shifted it to district government hospital for post-mortem.
The police have registred a case of murder and allege that motive behind his murder could have been personal rivalry. "Murder took place on Sunday night. 3 teams have been formed to nab the culprits. We have vital clues about the suspects. Murder is due to personal rivalry and has no political angle to it', said SP Bidar Prakash Nikam.

Local MLA Prabhu Chowhan, however, alleges that Dongre was targeted for being a BJP worker and his death is the latest addition to the list of RSS, BJP workers who have been murdered in the state.
The Karnataka BJP had already called for a statewide protest on Tuesday condemning the killings of BJP, RSS and Sangh parivar worker over the last 2 years and also to protest against the government's decision to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi on November 10.
