Gujarat elections: BJP candidate from Varachhna Road constituency- Kumarbhai Shivabhai Kanani

In 2012 Gujarat Assembly elections, Kanani had defeated Congress party’s Gajera Dhirubhai Haribhai by 20,359 votes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Varachhna Road Assembly Constituency for the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017 is Kumarbhai Shivabhai Kanani. Kanani is the current MLA representing Varachhna Road Assembly Constituency. In 2012 Gujarat Assembly elections, Kanani had defeated Congress party's Gajera Dhirubhai Haribhai by 20,359 votes.

Kumarbhai was born on December 1, 1962, in Amreli. Kumarbhai's father's name is Shivabhai Kanani. Kumarbhai has studied till class 9th.

He was elected to the Gujarat Assembly for the first time in 2012. He has also been a corporator of Surat Municipal corporation.

According to mynets.info, Kumarbhai has stated his profession as textile weaving. As of 2012, his assets are worth over Rs one crore and he has no criminal cases against him.
