Mullah Omar dead or alive remains mystery of 2011
Mullah Omar is dead! No he isn't dead he is alive!, but Taliban says he is dead. Wait. This news sounds quite confusing. Actually it is. Taliban on its website posted on the passing of one of the world's most wanted terrorists but he still doing good as far as, at least, US officials concerned.

However, to confirm US' speculation a Taliban spokesperson contacted media and rubbished the death news of Mullah Omar. He claimed that both the Taliban's website and phone network had been hacked by a "cunning enemy" who spread the false report.
Mullah Omar is the one-eyed spiritual leader of the Taliban. He was Afghanistan's de facto head of state from 1996 to late 2001 and former comrade in arms of slain Osama bin Laden.
However, Mullah Omar had become a mystery of 2011 that remained unresolved though the year ends.
