2008 cash-for-votes scam rocks in 2011

Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was arrested on Sept 6, 2011 under the prevention of corruption act in the cash-for-votes scam for his alleged role during the trust vote motion against the UPA-I government in July 2008.

In the same case, former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) advisor and L K Advani"s close aid Sudheendra Kulkarni was also arrested on Sept 27, 2011. He was named as a co-conspirator in the scam along with Amar singh. He was later granted bail by the Delhi High Court. [Read:
