One of the first to share the image was Mubasher Lucman, a popular Pakistani journalist and anchor. He shared the image on March 8, the day Imran Khan suspended his election rally in Lahore after the police cracked down on his supporters. While the sharing the image, he wrote, "PTI is a law abiding party."

The tweet has been shared over 2,500 times and has gone viral.

To clear up the confusion, OneIndia checked if the image being shared is genuine or not.

While performing a reverse image search, we learnt that the image has been digital altered. We were led to an image posted by Getty Images. The image was published on August 15 2014. We found no gun in that image.

, "Supporters of Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) or Movement for Justice arrive in Islamabad to take part in Azadi (Freedom) march on August 15, 2014," read the caption of the image.

The photo was credited to the Turkish state news agency Anadolu.

On August 15 2014, Imran Khan organised an 'Azaadi March', which was 370 kilometres long. He was pressing for the resignation of then prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

We also found another image published by African news channel, eNCA with the header, "Imran Khan's PTI attached on Islamabad march."

This makes it clear that the latest image being shared with a PTI supporter holding a gun is digitally altered. Moreover the image is from 2014 and not a latest one.
