Fact Check: Old video from Hyderabad passed off as latest from Bengal
The Ram Navami processions in West Bengal have proven to be controversial with incidents of vandalism and violence being reported.
Now a video is doing the rounds which police arresting young men by dragging them out of their homes.

The video is being shared with the claim that shows the Gujarat police arresting Muslim men who are said to have allegedly pelted stones at the Ram Navami rally. The same video was also shared with the claim that the incident took place in Maharashtra.
OneIndia has learnt that the video has not been shot either in Maharashtra or Gujarat. The video is an old one from Hyderabad and has nothing to do with the March 30 clashes that took place on Ram Navami.
A reverse image search of the viral video's keyframes led us to a similar clip which was from August 25 2022.NDTV while posting the video on its Twitter handle said that the video was from a protest held against the alleged remark made by suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh on Prophet Mohammad. The incident took place at the Shalibanda area in Hyderabad on August 24 2022.
"Telangana | Protestors gathered at Shalibanda in Hyderabad last night over alleged remarks of suspended BJP leader T Raja Singh on #ProphetMuhammad; police used force to restrain them," the tweet by NDTV read.
Reports said that on August 22 2022, Raja SingScreenshot 2023-04-04 at 10.37.52 AM.pngh released a video allegedly making derogatory remarks against the Prophet. Following this a large crowd gathered in various parts of the city demanding action against Singh.

The police are said to have brought the situation under control after a lathi charge. Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi had alleged that the police had used disproportionate methods and barged into the homes of the protesters at midnight.
Hence, it is clear that the video that has gone viral has nothing to do with the recent clashes that took place on Ram Navami. The video is from Hyderabad and was shot in 2022.
Meanwhile tensions prevail in Bengal following the Ram Navami violence. West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee has said that she had urged her Hindu brothers to protect the minorities in the state.
