‘Who In The PMO Could Write This?’ Rakesh Bedi Rejects Dhurandhar Script Claims With Viral Dialogue Reference

Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi recently spoke about his role in the blockbuster Dhurandhar franchise. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, was packed with action and intense moments. However, a few comic scenes quickly gained attention on social media. Bedi claimed that many of those humorous moments were actually his idea.

How Comedy Found A Place In The Intense Spy Thriller Franchise?

Rakesh recalled working on the project and revealed that initially, Dhar was unsure about adding humour to such an intense script. The actor went through the script multiple times and eventually felt that the narrative was extremely tense and emotionally heavy.

"As someone who naturally leans towards comedy, I could identify certain moments where a bit of humour could provide relief," he shared.

Rakesh said he approached Aditya with the suggestion, but the filmmaker was hesitant at first. However, as filming progressed, both of them started enjoying the comic additions. Later, those scenes turned out to be some of the film's most memorable moments.

The Viral Dialogue That Came From Rakesh

Rakesh was asked about a scene where he contributed his creativity. He pointed to one of the most talked-about dialogues: "Your b***ocks are very white." The dialogue was delivered in reference to ducks in a scene from Dhurandhar. It gained attention online and became a fan favourite. The scene highlighted the unexpected comic streak within the serious spy drama.

Rakesh Bedi Responds To PMO Script Rumours

The actor also addressed long-standing claims that the Dhurandhar script originated from the Prime Minister's Office. Rakesh jokingly dismissed the speculation and referred to the viral dialogue, saying that no one in the PMO could have written something like that.

He remarked, "After the film became a hit, some people claimed the script came from the PMO. I said, tell me who in the PMO could possibly write a line like this. Nobody would even think of it."

Both films were praised for their storytelling. However, some critics argued that they portrayed the BJP-led administration in a favourable light while downplaying the achievements of previous governments.

The Success Story Of The Dhurandhar Franchise

Dhurandhar was released in theatres on December 5, 2025, followed by Dhurandhar 2 on March 19, 2026. The franchise features Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera, and Danish Pandor.

The first film earned ₹1,307 crore worldwide, while the sequel has grossed more than ₹1,790 crore globally.

The story follows Jaskirat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza Ali Mazari, who is sent to Lyari in Pakistan on a covert mission to dismantle a terror network. To achieve his objective, he infiltrates a Baloch gang, marries the daughter of a local politician, and gradually becomes part of the community.
