Vettaiyan 1st Day Box Office Collection: Flying Start In Chennai; Decent Opening In Bengaluru, Kochi

Rajinikanth's much-anticipated film 'Vettaiyan' had a decent opening at the domestic box office on its first day of release The film, which has garnered significant attention, especially in Tamil Nadu, saw an overall Tamil occupancy rate of 53.73% on day 1, as per Sacnik.

The morning shows had 53.95 per cent occupancy for the Tamil version while 53.51 per cent occupancy, the data claimed.

The film performed particularly well in Chennai, where it recorded a high 74.50% occupancy across 838 shows. Other cities also saw promising attendance:

• Coimbatore: 72.00% occupancy for 273 shows
• Madurai: 42.00% occupancy for 156 shows
• Bengaluru: 36.00% occupancy across 1003 shows
• Kochi: 40.00% for 222 shows

Telugu and Hindi Versions:

The Telugu version of Vettaiyan The Hunter had an overall 34.94% occupancy on its opening day:

• Morning Shows: 35.73%
• Afternoon Shows: 34.15%

Key Telugu-speaking cities like Hyderabad and Vizag showed decent numbers:

• Hyderabad: 35.00% occupancy across 390 shows
• Vizag-Visakhapatnam: 41.00% occupancy for 115 shows

The Hindi version, however, had a slower start with relatively lower occupancy rates:

• Morning Shows: 9.17%
• Afternoon Shows: 8.80%

Box Office Collection:

Despite varying performance across regions and languages, Vettaiyan earned an estimated Rs 15.47 crore net in India on its first day across all languages, positioning itself for a potentially strong weekend ahead, especially in Rajinikanth's stronghold markets.

The film's opening day has set the stage for what could be a promising run, with fan excitement and positive word-of-mouth expected to drive further box office success.
Meanwhile, the movie has opened to fairly positive reviews from the audience.
