Rumour Has It! Sonakshi Sinha To Marry Boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal On June 23

It seems the wedding bells are going to ring in B-Town once again.

What might come as a surprise for cinema buffs, Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is all set to say 'I do' to her rumuored boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal. The two have been rumored to be dating since 2020 and are reportedly set to marry on June 23.

The wedding is expected to take place at a popular venue in south Bombay. Their relationship garnered attention when they starred together in the 2022 film 'Double XL' and the music video 'Jodi Blockbuster'. The couple is frequently seen together at various events and dinners in Mumbai.

During her appearance in the 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', the actress had openly expressed her eagerness to get married, where she playfully addressed her desire to tie the knot. This was highlighted when Kapil Sharma joked about her colleagues, like Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani, being married already.

"Aap jale pe namak daal rahe ho na. Wo (Kapil) jaanta hai mujhe kitne zor se shaadi karni hai. [Please don't do this. Kapil, you know how eagerly I want to get married], Sinha had said.

Dad Shatrughan reacts

The rumour mills about Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding have been buzzing for a while now, however, the Sinha family is yet to respond to any of the speculations.

A few days ago, the actress' father, Shatrughan Sinha, while speaking to Zoom TV said that he is not aware of his daughter's wedding plans. He also said that he would bless the couple when he gets the information.

"Main bhi utna hi jaanta ho jitna main media maine padha hai (I know as much about this as what the media has told me). If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings. We wish her happiness always. We trust her judgment completely. She would never make an extra-constituional or illegal decision. As a consenting adult, she has the right to make her own decisions."

"Having said that, I would like to say that whenever my daughter gets married, I would like to be dancing right in front of the baaraat. I am being asked by people close to me why I am not aware of this and the media is aware of it. All I can say is, aaj kal ke bacche consent nahin lete maap-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain (these days, children don't seek consent from parents, they just inform). We are waiting to be informed," the actor concluded.
