OTT Releases In May 2025: Cinegoers got to enjoy plenty of good content in OTT platforms in the month of April. From Hindi movie Chaava to Malayalam blockbuster L2: Empuraan, many notable movies have hit the OTT platforms.

Now, new month is here and the viewers will get to enjoy a lot of interesting films and series in May. Here is the list of new films in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada in Netflix, Zee5, Amazon Prime, Sony Liv, and more.

New Movies/Series In Hindi In May 2025

The month kicks off with Costao (May 1, ZEE5), an intense action thriller set against the backdrop of crime and corruption. Following a fearless protagonist on the run after crossing paths with a powerful smuggler's family, this Hindi-language film explores themes of betrayal, survival, and retribution.

Another major release is Black White & Gray: Love Kills (May 2, Sony LIV), a gripping investigative series led by a determined journalist unravelling the chilling truth behind a string of murders. The show skillfully merges crime, social commentary, and suspense.

On May 9, Netflix unveils The Diplomat, a political thriller following the turmoil that erupts when a mysterious woman shows up at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. The same day, the OTT giant also premieres The Royals, a quirky romantic dramedy starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter, centered around an eccentric royal family trying to modernize their crumbling estate.

Hai Junoon (May 16, JioHotstar) blends youthful exuberance with powerful performances in a music-and-dance-filled college drama that promises to resonate with Gen Z audiences.

Closing out the month is Sikandar (May 30, Netflix), a redemption tale about an ordinary man turned social savior, whose transformation is inspired by his wife's compassion.

New Films/Series In Tamil In May 2025

Netflix is also expected to debut Good Bad Ugly, a much-anticipated Tamil action flick starring Ajith Kumar and Trisha. Though the release date is TBD, expectations are high for this star-studded ensemble directed by Adhik Ravichandran.

Streaming from May 1 on SunNXT, Paraman is a rural drama portraying a farmer's legal fight against land grabbers. Another standout is Varunan (May 1, Aha), a mysterious thriller delving into crime and revenge.

On a lighter note, Sumo (TBD) offers a sports comedy twist with Mirchi Shiva and Priya Anand, where a child-like sumo wrestler washes ashore in Chennai and builds an unexpected friendship.

New Series and Movies In Malayalam In 2025

Sony LIV brings Maranamass (May 15), a darkly comic ride involving an influencer, a body on a bus, and an elusive killer. Basil Joseph leads this unique mix of murder mystery and social satire.

Releasing on Amazon Prime Video, Ouseppinte Osiyathu (May 1) is a poignant family drama examining emotional inheritance, sibling dynamics, and childhood trauma.

Also heading to OTT is Thudarum (JioHotstar, expected in May), a crime thriller starring Mohanlal and Shobana, which has already won over critics in theatres.

Suraj Venjaramoodu takes the lead in ED - Extra Decent, a dark comedy streaming on Saina Play, Manorama Max, and Prime Video, about a man confronting long-held family secrets.

New Films And Series In Kannada In May 2025

Agnyathavasi is now available on ZEE5 Kannada. The film revolves around a murder in a quiet village, where an inexperienced cop uncovers deeply buried truths.

Adhipatra is expected to drop soon on Amazon Prime Video. Starring Roopesh Shetty, the crime drama follows a police officer's hunt for a killer within the force.

Yogaraj Bhat's Manada Kadalu, a romantic coming-of-age film, is also slated for release on OTT (platform TBA). It had a mixed reception in theatres but is expected to find a new audience online.

Kaalapatthar (May 2, SunNXT) adds patriotic fervor to the Kannada lineup, recounting a soldier's bravery and his village's tribute to him.

Telugu and International Titles Add More Flavour

Robinhood, despite flopping at the box office, will stream on ZEE5 from May 2. The Telugu-language heist drama stars Nithiin and Sreeleela.

Bad Boy (May 2, Netflix), a Hebrew-language title, chronicles a troubled teen's journey from incarceration to comedy stardom.

Amazon Prime Video drops Another Simple Favor (May 1), an English-language mystery sequel featuring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, set amid a lavish wedding in Capri gone awry.

Naangal, a Tamil festival favourite about a dysfunctional family, and Muthayya, a Telugu tale of a 70-year-old man's acting dreams (May 1, ETV Win), round out the diverse regional content pool.
