Mirzapur: Jitendra Kumar And Ravi Kishan Join The Action-Packed Cast

The world of Mirzapur is about to get even more intense. Just when fans thought they knew what to expect, the makers of the hit web series have added a thrilling twist: Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan are now part of the upcoming film adaptation.

While the nature of their roles remains a closely guarded secret, speculation is rife. Will they bring back familiar faces from the Mirzapur universe, or introduce entirely new, game-changing characters? A source close to the project told HTCity, "Jitendra and Ravi Kishan have joined the cast of the film. The mahurat puja took place on Thursday, and both attended the celebrations. Their characters are being kept as a big surprise for the fans."

Pre-production is already in full swing. "Look tests and reading sessions have begun and will continue for the next few days. Jitendra and Ravi are actively participating in the pre-production work. The film is expected to go on floors next month," the source added. While Ravi Kishan declined to comment, efforts to reach Jitendra Kumar for confirmation were unsuccessful.

About Mirzapur: The Film

Announced in 2024, the film promises to reunite the original trio - Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Divyenndu - for a cinematic spectacle. Created by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the movie is slated for a 2026 theatrical release across India, followed by an OTT release. Shweta Tripathi is also expected to return as Golu.

Ali Fazal previously teased that the film would take fans back in time. "We are very excited. It is the OG cast, and we are going at the back of the table. Back in time, I suppose. It has to be back in time because there are like some dead people walking," he said. When asked if this meant a prequel, he coyly replied, "You will find out. But we are really excited to bring it to the theatres. Peaky Blinders also did that. It wasn't like a one-off or an odd choice of move."

With fan-favourite characters returning, fresh surprises on the horizon, and a cinematic scale to match Mirzapur's gritty world, anticipation for the 2026 release has reached fever pitch.
