'Maharaja' Box Office Collection: Vijay Sethupathi's Flick Is Highest Grossing Profitable Tamil Film Of 2024

Vijay Sethupathi's action-packed film 'Maharaja' continues to dominate the box office. Even as it enters its fourth week, the movie shows no signs of slowing down, consistently pulling in impressive numbers and solidifying its status as a major commercial success.

On its 25th day, Vijay Sethupathi's flick has collected an additional Rs 22 lakh net in India, bringing its total domestic collection to an astounding Rs 70.2 crore. This incredible performance has yielded a remarkable profit of Rs 50.2 crore for the filmmakers.

The film's success is even more notable given its modest production budget of just Rs 20 crore. In a short span, 'Maharaja' has more than quadrupled its investment, confirming its place as a highly profitable venture.

The success story of 'Maharaja' extends beyond its financial achievements. The film has already surpassed the lifetime collections of 'Aranmanai 4' both domestically and globally.

Although 'Aranmanai 4' performed exceptionally well in Tamil Nadu, earning Rs 60.23 crore compared to Rs 'Maharaja''s current Tamil Nadu collection of Rs 55.49 crore, the strong performance of Sethupathi's flick in the Telugu market, with a staggering 14.61 crore, has earned it the title of 'Highest Grossing Kollywood Film of 2024' in all-India collections.

As far as the overseas box office is concerned, 'Maharaja' has also seen significant success, earning Rs 24.25 crore from overseas markets. Combining this with its domestic gross total of Rs 82.83 crore, 'Maharaja''s" worldwide earnings reach an impressive Rs 107.08 crore.

The action thriller film is directed by Nithilan Swaminathan. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi in the title role, alongside Anurag Kashyap, Sachana Namidass, Mamta Mohandas, Natarajan Subramaniam, Abhirami, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Manikandan, Singampuli and Bharathiraja.

The movie hit the screens on June 14.
