Kayadu Lohar Signs Biggie: Dragon Actress Set To Romance This Top Tamil Star In Her Next Film

Kayadu Lohar, who is basking in the gigantic success of her Tamil movie Dragon, seems to have bagged a biggie. Well, the actress will be pairing up with none other than Silambarasan aka Simbu in her next movie.

As per the reports, the makers have roped in for the movie. It comes after the massive success of Dragon. The actress is expected to join the shooting of the Tamil movie in April. The makers plan to wrap up the shooting by October with the aim of releasing the movie in December.

Ramkumar Balakrishnan, who had earlier directed the movie Parking starring Harish Kalyan and MS Bhaskar, is directed the movie which is being produced by Don Pictures.

The story is set in a college backdrop and Simbu plays the role of a professor. Interestingly, Santhanam is doing an important role in the flick.

Singer Tippu's son Sai Abhyankkar is expected to score the music.

Who Is Kayadu Lohar?

She has come to the spotlight after working in Pradeep Ranganathan's hit movie Dragon. The movie has turned out to be a sleeper hit of 2025. Not just in Tamil but it has managed to draw the viewers' attention from Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi cine-goers.

The movie minted close to Rs 100 crore (net) with the estimated gross to be around Rs 114.54 crore. From the overseas centres, it has made around Rs 32.9 crore.

Her Journey

She started off her acting career in 2021 with the Kannada film Mugilpete and later ventured into Malayalam cinema with Pathonpatham Noottandu (2022). She also appeared in the Telugu film Alluri alongside Sree Vishnu and made her Marathi debut with I Prem U.

Lohar will be next seen in Idhayam Murali, a Tamil coming-of-age romantic drama featuring Atharvaa in the lead. The film, directed by Aakash Baskaran, boasts a stellar cast including Preity Mukhundhan, Niharika NM, and Pragya Nagra. Additionally, she has been roped in for Funky, a Telugu family entertainer directed by Anudeep KV, where she will be seen alongside Vishwak Sen.
