Kareena Kapoor Khan continues to demonstrate that marriage and motherhood do not hinder a Bollywood actress's career. Following the success of Veere Di Wedding, she has signed two major films with top actors Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay this year.

Reports have suggested her involvement in 'Salute', a biopic on astronaut Rakesh Sharma, but no official confirmation had been made until now.

However, a report in Bollywood Hungama has claimed that Kareena will indeed play Madhu, Rakesh Sharma's wife, in 'Salute'. She is expected to sign the contract this week. This marks her second film after 'Veere Di Wedding' this year, the first being a Karan Johar production opposite Akshay Kumar. Kareena and Shah Rukh last worked together in 'Ra.One' (2011).

An insider told the website: "Various issues like remuneration and dates need to be sorted before an announcement. Kareena and Shah Rukh coming together after Ra.One is significant news. Everything is now finalised, and Kareena will play Madhu, an interior designer by profession and Rakesh Sharma's wife." The source added that Kareena loved the story and is excited to work with Shah Rukh again.

There were rumours of a fallout between SRK and Kareena post-'Ra.One'. Neither confirmed nor denied these reports. Speculation arose when Kareena did not attend the launch of Gauri Khan's new interior design store despite many Bollywood celebrities being present. Some believed the fallout was due to her not promoting 'Ra.One' as much as expected because she was busy with 'Agent Vinod'.

The film 'Salute' is set to begin production by the end of the year. A formal announcement regarding the movie is anticipated soon.
