Jatadhara Box Office Collection Day 1: Sonakshi Sinha’s Film Struggles to Draw Crowds, Trends Show Slow Start

Sonakshi Sinha's Telugu debut film Jatadhara has registered a slow start at the box office. The supernatural thriller collected around ₹0.95 crore on its opening day, marking a modest beginning despite decent pre-release buzz and strong critical discussion. This film is directed by Abhishek Jaiswal and produced by Sudheer Babu Productions, Zee Studio, and Ess Kay Gee Entertainment.

Expectations were high for Jatadhara, given its intriguing blend of mythology and modern horror, but audience turnout on Friday was lower than anticipated. The occupancy remained limited across major urban centres, with slightly better response in Hyderabad and select multiplex chains.

According to the real-time Sacnilk data, Jatadhara raked in around 0.90 Cr India net on its first day for all languages.

Trade analysts described the opening as "disappointing" for a film featuring a known Bollywood star making her Telugu debut. However, they remain hopeful that positive reviews and weekend word of mouth could lift its performance.

With Jatadhara earning less than ₹1 crore, trade sources believe the film must double its figures over the weekend to stay in contention.

While the opening was slow, trade insiders say that the film's positive critical buzz could attract more viewers over Saturday and Sunday. According to some media reports Jatadhara is made on an overall budget of 16 Crores all inclusive of promotion cost. A 30-40% jump would be crucial for the film to maintain momentum through the week.

For now, Jatadhara begins its box office journey on a subdued note, with hopes pinned on audience curiosity and Sonakshi Sinha's cross-language appeal to drive future collections.
