What Does the "Ban" Actually Mean then?

A Non-Cooperation Directive from FWICE is essentially a boycott by the industry's workforce. FWICE represents over 500,000 members across 38 distinct crafts (including cameramen, lighting technicians, spot boys, and daily wage workers). Technically, no registered FWICE member is permitted to work on a project involving Ranveer Singh until the dispute is resolved.

FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit stated that they sent Ranveer three separate reminders over a 30-day period to appear in person and share his side of the story. Ranveer did not show up.
