Is MS Dhoni Doing Special Appearance In Vijay's 'GOAT'?

Rumours have been doing rounds about cricket legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni making a special appearance in Thalapathy Vijay's highly anticipated film, 'GOAT.'

Dhoni, who enjoys a massive fan following in Tamil Nadu, especially due to his association with the Chennai Super Kings, had reportedly sparked unparalleled excitement among fans with the speculation of his cameo in the movie. Known affectionately as 'Thala' by his fans, Dhoni's presence in a Vijay film seemed like a dream collaboration.

However, Venkat Prabhu, the director of 'GOAT', has officially put these rumours to rest. During a promotional interview for the movie, Prabhu clarified that MS Dhoni is not part of the Vijay-starrer. He did, however, admit that he had initially planned for Dhoni to have a cameo in the film, but unfortunately, the plan didn't materialize.

Venkat Prabhu also revealed that the film includes a cricket match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians, and while that sequence will feature images of prominent cricketers from both franchises, Dhoni himself will not be making an appearance.

In a related development, former Indian cricketer Subramaniam Badrinath has announced that he will be making his acting debut in 'GOAT.' Badrinath took to social media to share his excitement about his new venture, writing, "Have done my bit for #GOAT, my first time being part of a movie, very excited...awaiting reviews and feedback."

'GOAT' (Greatest of All Time) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language science fiction action film directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment. The film stars Vijay in dual roles, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, and Yugendran.

This marks the twenty-fifth production of the studio and is also noted as the penultimate film for Vijay before his anticipated entry into politics. The film follows the story of Gandhi, a former leader of a special anti-terrorist squad, who reunites with his squad members to tackle the unresolved issues stemming from their past missions.
