Good Bad Ugly OTT Release: How Much Did Netflix Pay For Digital Rights? Lesser Than Vidaamuyarchi

Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly has successfully completed its 25-day run in theatres and is now gearing up for its digital release.

The action thriller was released on April 10. The movie has earned over Rs 150 crore (nett) in India alone. The movie has done exceedingly well in Tamil Nadu while doing decent business in Karnataka.

As the theatrical run is more or less ending, the movie is now prepared for its digital release. Netflix acquired the rights even before its release.

Netflix had earlier released Ajith's Thunivu and Vidaamuyarchi. However, it has not paid a higher price for the rights of Good Bad Ugly.

How Much Did Netflix Pay For Good Bad Ugly OTT Rights?

As per the reports, the streaming giant had acquired the digital rights of Thunivu for Rs 65 crore while paying Rs 100 crore for the rights of Vidaamuyarchi.

However, it has acquired the digital rights of Good Bad Ugly for Rs 95 crore. It is considered to be a big amount when the OTT offers are crashing in Tamil and other languages.

However, it slightly trails behind the record set by Vijay's 'GOAT,' which was bought for Rs 110 crore by the same platform.

Adhik Ravichandran-directed movie has Trisha Krishnan in the female lead. She has reunited with him after Mankatha, Kireedam, Ji, Yennai Arindhaal and more recently Vidaamuyarchi. Prabhu, Arjun Das, Prasanna, Sunil, Usha Uthup, Rahul Dev, Raghu Ram, Yogi Babu, Tinnu Anand and others are part of the cast. Good Bad Ugly has the cinematography of Abinandhan Ramanujam while GV Prakash Kumar has scored the music. Vijay Velukutty is the editor of the flick.

The movie revolves around a fearless don who wants to lead a peaceful life. However, his dark past haunts him and forced to face his enemies after his son gets kidnapped. What follows next should be watched on-screen.

It is an out-and-out mass entertainer designed as a tribute to Ajith's star power.
