'GOAT' Advance Booking: Online Booking Starts In Chennai; Yet To Open In Bengaluru, Kochi

The advance booking of tickets for Thalapathy Vijay's much-awaited movie 'Greatest of All Time' (GOAT) started in Chennai on Friday.

Rohini Silver Screens has become the first cinema hall to sell tickets. Cine-goers can book tickets for eight days - from September 5 to 13. However, the full-fledged booking is yet to begin in Tamil Nadu's capital along with other major cities including Bengaluru and Kochi.

However, the ongoing dispute over profit-sharing between distributors and single-screen theaters is delaying the advance booking of tickets.

Sources indicate that distributors are demanding 75% of the net collection for the first two weeks, while theatres are offering 70% for week one and 65% for week two.

Vijay's biggie is all set to release worldwide on August 5.

However, the advance booking for tickets in the US started many days ago and the response from the fans has been good. From the pre-sales, it has raked in $35000, so far.

"Theater chains are in the process of opening early premiere shows one by one & they're opening bookings state by state 👍 More shows will be opened at your nearest locations," Hamsini Entertainment, overseas distributor of the movie, said on X.

Reports claim that GOAT will feature special early morning shows at 4 AM in Kerala and Karnataka, with premieres in the US and Malaysia also scheduled around the same time.

However, in Tamil Nadu, the first show will begin around 9 AM due to a government ban on early morning screenings. This ban was put in place following clashes between fans of rival actors during early screenings that led to unexpected incidents.

Produced by AGS Entertainment, GOAT boasts an ensemble cast including Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and others.

In other news, the movie has underwent another round of censorship after new scenes were added. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film will be released with an extended runtime of three hours and three minutes, up from the original two hours and 59 minutes, following the addition of these new scenes.
