Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has once again proved his unparalleled box office pull, as Drishyam 3 has recorded a sensational start at the global box office even before its theatrical release. The much-awaited thriller has amassed a staggering ₹34.45 crore in worldwide pre-sales for Day 1, setting the stage for one of the biggest openings ever for a Malayalam film.

Trade circles are already calling it a historic moment for Mollywood, with advance bookings witnessing extraordinary momentum across India and overseas markets. The film's phenomenal pre-release business underlines the enduring popularity of the Drishyam franchise and the massive anticipation surrounding the return of Georgekutty.

According to trade data, Drishyam 3 has earned ₹12.45 crore from domestic advance bookings alone, while overseas territories have contributed a massive ₹22 crore. With bookings continuing at a rapid pace, the film is now heading towards a gigantic opening day worldwide.

Kerala has emerged as the biggest contributor in India, accounting for an impressive ₹8.20 crore in pre-sales. The numbers clearly indicate the unmatched craze surrounding the film in the state. Karnataka followed with ₹1.55 crore, while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed ₹1.15 crore. Tamil Nadu added ₹75 lakh, and the rest of India contributed around ₹80 lakh, as per the trade data.

The overseas market has turned out to be equally explosive for the film. The Gulf region leads the international chart with a superb $1.10 million in advance sales, reaffirming Mohanlal's massive fan base among Malayali audiences in the Middle East. North America has grossed $340K, while the UK and Ireland market has contributed $330K. Australia and New Zealand together added $225K, and Europe along with the rest of the world generated another $290K. Overall, the overseas total stands at an outstanding $2.29 million, approximately ₹22 crore.

Within Kerala itself, Ernakulam has emerged as the strongest territory with ₹1.74 crore in pre-sales from 385 shows and an occupancy rate of 85.68 per cent. Trivandrum followed closely with ₹1.21 crore from 342 shows. Kozhikode also registered exceptional performance with ₹80.73 lakh and a remarkable 83.67 per cent occupancy.

Kannur witnessed one of the highest occupancies in the state at 86.63 per cent, while Pathanamthitta and Idukki recorded occupancy rates above 77 per cent, indicating strong demand even in smaller centres.

The statewide numbers are extraordinary. Across Kerala, the film has sold over 4.72 lakh tickets from 2,387 shows, grossing ₹8.19 crore in pre-sales alone. Such figures are rarely seen in Malayalam cinema and highlight the scale at which Drishyam 3 is arriving.

The advance booking trends now suggest that the film could comfortably cross the ₹50 crore mark worldwide within its opening weekend if word-of-mouth turns positive. Industry experts believe the film is also poised to challenge several existing opening-day records for Malayalam cinema.
