Dileep Raj Death: Ganesh, Prem & 100s of Celebs Pay Homage To Kannada Actor

Hundreds of celebrities from the Kannada television and film fraternity gathered to pay their final respects to actor and producer Dileep Raj, who passed away at the age of 48 following a heart attack on Wednesday.

The sudden demise of the versatile actor sent shockwaves across the Kannada entertainment industry, with actors, directors, television personalities and well-wishers mourning the loss of a performer remembered as much for his humility as for his talent.

Several prominent names from Sandalwood and Kannada television were present to offer condolences and stand in solidarity with Dileep Raj's family during the difficult time. Among those who paid homage were Prem, Vijay Raghavendra, S Narayan, Ganesh, Thriller Manju, Darling Krishna along with Milana Nagaraj, Srujan Lokesh accompanied by veteran actress Girija Lokesh, as well as television personalities including Kavya Shastry, Shalini, Sunil Raoh and Anushree.

Veteran actress Vinaya Prasad, television actors Preethi Sharma, Yashaswini Ravindra, Priya Achar, Mokshitha Pai, Karthik Mahesh and Sushmitha Jagappa were also among the many who visited to bid farewell. Others including Shubha Poonja, Abhinaya, Ravi Shankar Gowda, Sunil Puranik, Aarthi, Sonu Gowda, Sunethra Pandit, Malavika Avinash, Namratha Gowda and Bhavya Gowda also paid their last respects.

Actor and television host Master Anand arrived with his wife, while actress Shwetha Chengappa, actor Deekshith Shetty and actress Rajini were among the many members of the industry who gathered to remember the late actor's contribution to Kannada entertainment.

Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty took to social media to express grief over Dileep Raj's untimely passing. Remembering him as a warm and compassionate individual, the Kantara actor wrote that Dileep Raj was not only a talented actor, director and producer, but above all "a good human being", adding that his personality and kindness would remain unforgettable.

Born on 2 September 1978, Dileep Raj carved a unique place for himself in the Kannada entertainment industry through years of dedication and versatility. Beginning his artistic journey in theatre with groups such as Nataranga and Drishti, he gradually transitioned into television before becoming a familiar face in Kannada cinema. He earned popularity through serials including Janani, Ardha Satya, Rangoli, Kumkuma Bhagya and Rathasapthami, winning audiences over with his understated yet emotionally compelling performances.

Dileep Raj later expanded his presence in films, appearing in more than 24 Kannada movies. He gained widespread recognition for his role in Milana alongside Puneeth Rajkumar and continued to impress audiences with notable performances in films such as U Turn.

Apart from acting, he also worked as a dubbing artist and theatre performer, showcasing his multifaceted talent across mediums.
