Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday (April 12) due to multiple organ failure, her family and attending doctors confirmed. Her last rites are scheduled to be held on Monday at 4 pm at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

"My mother passed away today. People can pay their last respects from 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande in Lower Parel, where she lived. The final rites will take place at 4 pm at Shivaji Park," her son Anand Bhosle said.

Asha Bhosle had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday after suffering from a chest infection and extreme exhaustion, her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle had earlier shared in a social media post. "My grandmother, Asha Bhosle, has been hospitalised due to severe exhaustion and a chest infection. Treatment is ongoing, and we are hopeful for her recovery," she had written.
