As Thalapathy Vijay Shifts His Focus On Politics, His Son Jason Sanjay Set To Make His Debut In Tamil Cinema

While Thalapathy Vijay is preparing to bid farewell to films and venture into politics, his son Jason Sanjay is set to make his debut in the film industry-not as an actor, but as a director.

Lyca Productions formally announced Jason's directorial debut with a motion teaser released on Friday. The film, which is yet to be titled, will feature Sundeep Kishan in the lead role. Thaman has been roped in as the music composer, and National Award-winning editor KL Praveen will also be part of the crew.

The project is slated to begin filming in January 2025, with additional cast and crew details to be revealed soon. Speaking about the film, GKM Tamil Kumaran of Lyca Productions said,

"Our production house has always strived to encourage good storytellers. When Jason Sanjay presented the narrative, we felt it was fresh and had the USP of drawing Pan-Indian attention."

The storyline is described as revolving around the theme of searching for something lost in its original place-posing the question, "at what cost?" The makers have kept details about the genre and other elements under wraps for now.

Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay is working on his last film, currently referred to as Thalapathy 69. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Karnataka-based KVN Productions, the details of the cast and crew will be announced later this evening.

The shooting of the movie is in progress. The movie has Pooja Hegde playing the female lead. Bollywood actor Bobby Deol in the villain role with Gautham Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Narain and others in the cast.

The movie will hit the screens in October 2025.

Vijay's next chapter involves his political debut with his newly launched party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, as he sets his sights on the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

This marks a significant transition for the superstar, as his son simultaneously embarks on his journey in cinema, continuing the family legacy in a new way.
