Marriage turns tragic: Groom's father shot dead over DJ music
Dehradun, July 26: A marriage ceremony turned into a tragedy when some drunk guests allegedly shot dead the groom's father, for not playing Bollywood songs of their choices.
According to TOI report, the shocking and unfortunate incident took place on Friday night at Sakoti village near Manglaur in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand.
Some youths in an inbriated state ordered the Disc Jockey (DJ) to play more music, so that they could dance for some more time. [DJ shot dead for not playing song on demand in UP]
However, the groom's father Vishwas Ram told the DJ to stop the music, citing late hours, so that marriage rituals could begin.
Then, the drunk men entered into a brawl with Vishwas.
At gunpoint, one of the men told DJ to play music. Then, Vishwas intervened and told them to leave the marriage venue immediately.
After feeling humiliated, one of them shot at Vishwas.
He was rushed to the civil hospital, where doctors declared him to be brought dead.
Three accused youths have been identified as Teluram, Madanlal and Sumit Singh.
All three of them have been arrested.
