Haridwar: Couple dragged out of a hotel, brutally thrashed
Dehradun, Sept 23: A young couple was was dragged out of a hotel, thrashed and publicly humiliated, by a group of 20 people, in a bid to keep holy town of Piran Kaliyar in Haridwar district 'pure'.
The shocking incident of moral policing happened on Sunday, Sept 20. The incident came to light when its video went viral.

In a 5-minute video clip, the couple were seen pleading the men to let them go. But the hooligans pulled woman by her hair and beaten up her.
When the matter was brought to the notice of Haridwar police, then all 20 people were booked for disrupting the law and order situation and on other various charges, TOI reported.
Local residents alleged that some guest houses in Piran Kaliyar were being offered to unwed couples.
