Debate: Will Modi's Dalit outreach help BJP in Karnataka?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has talked about Congress party's apathy towards Dalits in Karnataka and the country. It is common to lure Dalits during elections by both national parties, but it seems BJP has gone overboard.

PM Modi repeatedly raked up the issue of how Congress treated Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Babu Jagjeevanram. Time and again PM Modi highlighted that Congress didn't allow a Dalit leader to become CM of Karnataka.

Did PM Modi strike a right chord with Dalit voters? OR Was it more of negative campaigning against the Congress?
