K. Annamalai's Birthday Today, No Announcement Due To Election Results

Today is the birthday of K. Annamalai, a former IPS officer who now represents the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in contesting Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore seat.

Coimbatore, one of the largest industrial cities in the south, usually sees competition between Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) or All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). This year, things seem to be a little different as BJP has managed to enter into the race for the consituency's seat as well, thanks to the popularity of K. Annamalai.

The state's BJP chief is contesting the election against P. Ganapaty Rajkumar from DMK and Singai Govindarasu Ramachandran from AIADMK. Previously, in 2019, BJP had allied with AIADMK in order to secure victory in Tamil Nadu through the alliance, but was beat comfortably by the DMK-Congress alliance which had secured 38 out of the 39 total seats in the state.

Annamalai has not made any post on his social media celebrating his birthday, but being a popular figure in the state, he has already received numerous happy birthday messages on his Instagram's latest post. Today also happens to be counting day, which is why he's probably focused more on the elections than personal celebrations

The latest post, which he made two days ago, on June 2nd, talks of how the AIADMK, the party with which BJP was formally allied with, is turning into a diminishing light.

In his post, Annamalali takes clips from his interview, talking about how AIADMK is akin to a lamp that burns bright before shutting off. He says, "After June 4th, you are going to be here, and I'm going to be here. You are going to see the result, and I'm going to see the result. Let's see which party has won the hearts of the people in Tamil Nadu. Which party has grown the most, you will see. Everyone will know."
