Former IAS officer launches her autobiography
Coimbatore, Aug 23: A retired IAS officer today launched her autobiography titled, "My Beautiful Journey, Kashmir to Kanyakumari," which was released by the District Collector TN Hariharan here.
The book, traces the journey of former IAS officer Chander Kanta Gariyali as a young woman bureaucrat and the places she spent her entire career in.

As the narrative unfolds, it transforms from being a mere diary of one individual to a prism through which the reader can view the various events and developments of an entire era, a brief note on the book said. Gariyali was known as the Mother of SHGs and had worked as Chairman and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Corpoiration for Women.
"At one level, the book is an evocative story of a wide-eyed, small town girl who embraces the world and gets excited by every new experience. At another, it is the inspiring tale of a pioneering woman bureaucrat who chips away at difficulties and challenges and cuts redtapism to serve the society with single-minded devotion," Gariyali said at the launch.
The District Collector, T N Hariharan released and rceived the first copy. Exclusive signed copies of the book were distributed at Odyssey.
