Vijay's Political Career Ends If He Joins NDA: Ameer Targets TVK Chief After Women’s Day Jibe

Just two days after mocking Vijay's party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), for hosting a Women's Day celebration amid his ongoing marital discord, Tamil filmmaker Ameer has now warned that any alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) could spell the end of Vijay's political career.

In a WhatsApp status that quickly went viral, Ameer alleged that Vijay's potential move towards the NDA was driven by fear of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cases. "Joining the NDA out of fear of CBI cases will only end your political career," he wrote, adding fuel to the already heated debate in Tamil Nadu's political circles.

The remarks come against the backdrop of speculation that the NDA is actively trying to woo Vijay. On Sunday, BJP spokesperson A. N. S. Prasad publicly urged the TVK chief to join hands with the alliance, arguing that such a move would consolidate anti‑DMK votes and prevent fragmentation among opposition parties. The appeal was significant, given Vijay's earlier statements that the BJP was an ideological opponent of his party.

Ameer's earlier attack on Vijay had already stirred controversy. On Saturday, he accused the actor of hypocrisy, saying, "Kicking your wife and daughter out of the house and then hosting a 'Women's Day' political event is nothing but a disgusting spectacle." His words were widely interpreted as a reference to Vijay's estranged wife, Sangeetha, who has accused him of having an affair with an actress.

The debate has now taken a fresh turn with reports that Jana Sena Party founder and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has personally spoken to Vijay. According to Tamil media, Kalyan advised Vijay to take a "strategic political decision," drawing parallels with his own journey.

Kalyan reportedly recounted how both he and his brother, megastar Chiranjeevi, struggled electorally despite drawing massive crowds. "Despite the large turnout at the big convention held in Tirupati, my brother Chiranjeevi could not win there. I could not win either," he is said to have told Vijay. He then explained that his fortunes changed only after joining the NDA, particularly by aligning with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the BJP.

The developments highlight the growing pressure on Vijay as he navigates the complex terrain of Tamil Nadu politics. While his popularity as a film star has translated into mass appeal, questions remain about his ability to convert crowds into votes.
