Massive Ball Of Fire Engulfs Mahayagna Site In Ayodhya, Panic Among Devotees; Several Injured

A major fire broke out at the site of the Shri Laxmi Narayan Mahayagna at Rajghat in Ayodhya, causing panic among people present at the venue.

The incident occurred shortly after the religious event had concluded, with the exact cause of the fire still unknown.

Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and worked for hours to bring the flames under control. Authorities have launched an inquiry to determine how the fire started.

Fire Erupts After Conclusion of Religious Event

The Shri Laxmi Narayan Mahayagna, a large religious gathering, had just concluded after several days of rituals. The event was reportedly conducted under the guidance of Swami Jiyar Ji Maharaj and attended by many devotees.

According to initial reports, the fire broke out soon after the final rituals were completed. The Mahayagna had involved 108 kunds (sacred fire pits), which may have contributed to the rapid spread of flames.

Firefighters Battle Flames at Multiple Spots

The fire quickly spread to multiple locations within the venue, creating a chaotic situation. Several fire brigade vehicles were deployed, and firefighters worked intensively to control the blaze.

Officials said the fire affected at least three areas, including temporary structures set up for the event. After a significant effort, the fire was eventually brought under control.

Injuries Reported, Losses Feared

Reports suggest that three to four people suffered burn injuries in the incident and were taken to the hospital for treatment. However, officials are yet to confirm the exact number of injured.

There are also fears of heavy financial losses, as parts of the event infrastructure were damaged in the fire.

Eyewitnesses Blame Strong Winds

Eyewitnesses present at the site said that strong winds during or after the havan (ritual fire) may have caused sparks to spread, leading to the fire. While this remains unconfirmed, it is one of the possible reasons being considered by authorities.

The sudden spread of flames led to panic, and people were quickly evacuated from the area to ensure safety.

Minister and Officials Respond

Dayashankar Singh, who was associated with the event, said that the nine-day Mahayagna had concluded about an hour and a half before the fire broke out. He noted that the exact cause is still unclear and described it as fortunate that no fatalities were reported.

Officials from the local administration also reached the site immediately. District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde confirmed that everyone present was safe and that emergency teams were actively managing the situation.

Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Gaurav Grover said that fire and police teams were deployed promptly, and an alert was issued to prevent further risks. He added that the fire also affected nearby structures, including a shed, but was brought under control without any major casualties.

Safety Measures and Investigation Underway

Authorities have asked people to stay away from the site as a precautionary measure. Emergency and health teams continue to monitor the situation.
An investigation is now underway to determine the exact cause of the fire and assess the damage caused by the incident.
