Vijay-NDA Alliance On Cards? Pawan Kalyan Reportedly Reaches Out to TVK Chief

In politics, there is a popular saying: there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies. The developments unfolding in Tamil Nadu appear to reflect that reality, especially with speculation growing over whether actor-turned-politician Vijay could eventually align with the National Democratic Alliance ahead of the next Assembly elections.

The founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has positioned himself as a new force in Tamil Nadu politics. But even before the party formally enters its first major electoral battle, attempts appear to be underway from multiple quarters to bring Vijay into the opposition camp against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).

On Sunday, A. N. S. Prasad, a spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tamil Nadu, publicly appealed to Vijay to join hands with the NDA. According to him, such a move would prevent the anti-DMK votes from getting split among several opposition parties. The statement triggered intense political debate, as Vijay had earlier declared that the BJP was the ideological opponent of his party.

Amid this backdrop, a fresh report circulating in Tamil media has added a new twist. According to the report, Pawan Kalyan, the founder of the Jana Sena Party and the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is said to have personally spoken to Vijay and advised him to take a "strategic political decision."

During the reported conversation, Pawan Kalyan is said to have shared his own political journey as an example. He recalled how both he and his brother, megastar Chiranjeevi, struggled electorally despite drawing massive crowds at public meetings.

"Despite the large turnout at the big convention held in Tirupati, my brother Chiranjeevi could not win there. I could not win either," he reportedly told Vijay. He then explained that his fortunes changed only after joining the National Democratic Alliance, particularly by aligning with the Telugu Desam Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to the report, Pawan Kalyan said that the alliance strategy helped him retain his political relevance and deliver electoral results. "Through that, I managed to retain my Jana Sena politics by winning two MPs and 23 MLAs. Therefore, you too should act shrewdly and join the National Democratic Alliance to secure your political place," he reportedly advised.

Meanwhile, political speculation has also been swirling around possible seat-sharing arrangements if Vijay eventually joins the opposition bloc in Tamil Nadu. Reports claim that if Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam becomes part of an alliance led by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the party could be allotted at least 50 Assembly constituencies. Some discussions have even suggested that if the alliance wins and forms the government, Vijay could be offered the post of Deputy Chief Minister.

For now, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the general secretary of the AIADMK, is reportedly waiting for formal seat-sharing talks to begin. Political observers believe that if the BJP's outreach to Vijay succeeds and he joins the opposition alliance, it could significantly reshape the electoral battle in Tamil Nadu.

Such a move could potentially consolidate anti-DMK votes and pose a strong challenge to the ruling alliance in the next elections.

However, the final decision rests with Vijay himself. Having earlier described the BJP as his party's ideological adversary, the actor-politician faces a delicate political choice. With personal controversies and political pressures mounting, it remains to be seen whether Vijay will stick to his earlier stand or take a more pragmatic route in the evolving political landscape.
