Vijay Is A Good Actor, Zero Politician, Will Face Chiranjeevi’s Fate: Actor Bose Venkat Attacks TVK Chief
Actor-filmmaker Bose Venkat has launched a scathing attack on actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay, addressing him by his rarely used Christian name, "Joseph Vijay."
Bose Venkat acknowledged Vijay's acting prowess but dismissed his political ambitions. "Joseph Vijay, you are a good actor, but a zero politician. You need to understand that," he remarked.

He also cautioned Vijay against comparing himself to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran (MGR), suggesting that Vijay's political journey could end like Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's. Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party, after an initial buzz, eventually merged with the Congress, failing to make a lasting impact.
"At 50, You Call Yourself a Competitor?"
Continuing his tirade, Bose Venkat questioned Vijay's credentials to challenge the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). "You claim to be a challenger to the DMK. What were you doing at 14? Watching your father's movies? At 16, dreaming about being a hero? I know exactly what you were up to-I come from the same industry," he said.
He criticized Vijay's TVK for suddenly positioning himself as a political alternative. "You are 50 now and say you are DMK's challenger?" he asked.
Bose Venkat also took a dig at Vijay's stance against dynastic politics, pointing out that Vijay himself comes from a family deeply rooted in the film industry. "Your father, uncle, mother, sister-all are actors. So, how did you enter films?" he questioned.
Taking a Swipe at Vijay's Political Engagement
Referring to Udhayanidhi Stalin, Bose Venkat argued that the DMK leader was politically aware from a young age. "At 14, our leader was watching his granfather (M Karunanidhi) speaking to Indira Gandhi. World leaders and scientists were interacting with his grandfather while he sat beside them. And you talk about dynasty politics?"
He also challenged Vijay's commitment to social causes, asking, "You talk about women's safety-where have you protested for women's rights? In which people's struggle have you participated? Why did u remain silent when there was outrage in Kerala over harassement in films?"
Vijay's Challenge to DMK and BJP
Bose Venkat's remarks come in response to Vijay's recent speech at the first general council meeting of TVK, where he directly criticized DMK and BJP, calling them part of a "secret alliance."
"The 2026 elections will be a battle between two sides-TVK and DMK. Let us prepare for this fight," Vijay declared, projecting his party as the main challenger to the ruling DMK while sidelining AIADMK.
Vijay also took a sharp dig at Chief Minister Stalin, accusing him of suppressing opposition voices. "Honourable 'monarchist' Chief Minister Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin, if the BJP government at the Centre is fascist, then what is your government? A fascist regime in its own right," he alleged.
He further accused the DMK of deliberately obstructing TVK's public meetings. "Who are you to stop me from meeting my own people?" Vijay asked
