Chennai: Breakthrough in TCS techie murder case, 4 arrested

According to sources, one of the five accused in the case escaped from the city while police succeeded to nab other people in connection with 24-year-old Uma Maheshwari's death case. Sources also informed that the accused allegedly had forced the victim to take an auto when she left her office on Feb 13.
However, earlier the investigating officials had questioned one of the colleagues of the victim in connection with the case. The colleague reportedly had sent the last message in her phone on the day when she went missing.

The man was considered as the prime suspect in the case the one of the investigating officials was quoted as saying, "We are verifying his whereabouts on February 13 and plan to use advanced technology to trace his location. We can even find out if he is lying to us."
However, with the arrest of the four labours, who used to work with a construction site near the victim's office, the case has taken a new turn.
An autopsy revealed she had stab injuries in four places, which is believed to have led to her death. However, it has not been cleared whether the victim was raped or subjected to any sexual assault on the fateful night.
Maheshwari, a software engineer Maheswari and native of Salem district, lived in Medavakkam and had been working with TCS at Siruseri since Feb 2013.
