Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Mercury Rises Above 35°C In 12 Districts, Karur Hottest At 38.5°C
Tamil Nadu experienced a scorching Tuesday as twelve districts recorded temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius, according to the latest bulletin from the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai.
Tamil Nadu Weather: Karur, Vellore, Thirupattur, Salem Among Hottest
Karur emerged as the hottest spot, with the mercury touching 38.5°C. It is followed by Vellore (38.1°C), Thirupattur (38.0°C), Salem (37.8°C), Erode (37.6°C), Dharmapuri (37.0°C), and Madurai (37.0°C), Coimbatore (36.8°C), Tiruchirappalli (36.7°C), Tiruthani (36.0°C) and Thanjavur (35.0°C).

The meteorological data indicated a rising trend in maximum temperatures across the state, with no significant change observed in the past 24 hours. The weather agency notes that most regions in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal recorded temperatures ranging between 35°C and 39°C, with some areas experiencing temperatures 2°C above normal.
Chennai Weather
As far as the Chennai weather is concerned, the maximum temperature settled at 34.6°C, with forecasts predicting similar conditions over the next two days. However, weather blogger Chennai Rains highlighted that interior regions of Tamil Nadu would continue to experience intense afternoon heat, with temperatures hovering around 37-38°C.

In a post on X, the blogger said, "However, weather blogger Chennai Rains says, "Interior areas of Tamil Nadu will continue to remain hot during afternoons, with day time maximum temperatures hover around 37 / 38°C. From tomorrow for the next few days a slight increase in temperatures is expected across the state including Chennai & Suburbs."
Rains In Few Parts
A few parts of Tamil Nadu received rain on Tuesday. The weather-monitoring agency states that Chamraj Estate (dist The Nilgiris) received 5 cms rains and Cincona (dist Coimbatore), Taluk Office Pandalur (dist The Nilgiris) 4 each. Valparai PTO (dist Coimbatore), Rajapalayam (dist Virudhunagar), Devala (dist The Nilgiris), Wood Braiyar Estate (dist The Nilgiris), Kothagiri (dist The Nilgiris), Upasi TRF AWS (dist The Nilgiris) and Vembakottai (dist Virudhunagar) got 3 cms rains each.
As the summer heat intensifies, residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. The Meteorological Department continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates on any significant changes in weather patterns.
