Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Expect Light To Moderate Rains For Next 4 Days; Will Chennai Get Relief?

In a major relief to the people, the RMD has predicted light to moderate rain for one or two places in Tamil Nadu for the next few days, starting from March 20.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the RMD said, "Yesterday's trough/wind discontinuity from south Tamil Nadu to cyclonic circulation over west Vidarbha now runs from South Interior Karnataka to cyclonic circulation over west Vidarbha & neighbourhood and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level. Yesterday's trough from Jharkhand to north Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha at 0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked."

Light to Moderate rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal areas, the statement added.

Will Chennai Get Relief From Heat?

Well, the weather-monitoring agency has only mentioned one or two places in the entire state which has 38 districts. It has not stated that the state's capital will get rain.

About the weather in Chennai, the statement said, "Sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy. Maximum temperature is likely to be around 34°C and Minimum temperature is likely to be around 25°C."

It means the Chennaites are unlikely to get relief in the near future or at least this week.

On the other hand, Bengaluru, known for its pleasant weather, has been grappling with scorching temperatures in recent weeks, exacerbating the city's ongoing water crisis. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts relief on the horizon, with rain expected to provide respite in the coming days.
