Tamil Nadu Weather Update: 1 Or 2 Places To Get Light To Moderate Rains On This Date

The Regional Meteorological Department (RMD) anticipates dry conditions prevailing over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal for the next few days. However, there's a glimmer of hope as the RMD forecasts the possibility of light to moderate rain in these areas on March 20, offering much-needed relief to residents.

"Light to Moderate rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal area," stated the RMD.

In Chennai, partly cloudy skies are expected with maximum temperatures of 35-36°C and minimum temperatures around 25-26°C in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the RMD reports a cyclonic circulation over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and another over North Interior Karnataka. Additionally, a trough extends from East Vidarbha to North Tamil Nadu and another from Gangetic West Bengal to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, both at 0.9 km above mean sea level. However, the trough observed yesterday, stretching from interior Odisha to the Eastcentral Arabian Sea, has weakened.

In Himachal Pradesh, the local meteorological office predicts rain, snow, and thunderstorms in the mid and higher hills on March 14.

Uttarakhand is predicted to get very light to light rain/snow in scattered locations in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Rudraprayag districts, with the IMD forecasting dry conditions in the remaining districts. A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning is issued in scattered locations in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Rudraprayag districts.
