Tamil Nadu Weather: KTCC Gets Good Showers As Arcot In Ranipet Receives 15 CMS Rain
Arcot in Ranipet district in Tamil Nadu recorded 15 cms of rain on Tuesday, the Regional Meterological Centre's data said.

Arakonam in Ranipet district which received 12 cms. It is followed by 10 cms in Keelpennathur (dist Tiruvannamalai), Vembakkam (dist Tiruvannamalai), Palar Anicut (dist Ranipet), and Tiruttani (dist Tiruvallur).

Weather blogger R Pradeep John noted that it was a very good day for the KTCC region (Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Chengalpattu) with all 4 districts getting rains. He said in a post on Facebook: "It was Ranipet near to KTCC which got the heaviest rains. Rains have reduced gradually in many parts of state. Today too North TN districts have chance of rains."
He has predicted that the KTCC region might get good rains on Wednesday. He wrote, "Some parts of KTCC will get some will miss. Any rains in May month for Chennai should be welcomed.Bangalore some rains will be there today too. But the heaviest ones are over."
For the fourth day in a row, the temperature departure is in minus considering that no station has touched 40°C mark.
Thoothukudi (37.5) the highest maximum temperature of 37.5°C followed by Palayamkottai (37.4°C). Karur Paramathi recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 22.5°C in the plains of Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, thunderstorms & lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. The weather agency claims that Chennai too might witness thunderstorm and lightning with light to moderate rain in some areas.
The weather agency has said that the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced over some more parts of south Arabian Sea, Maldives and Comorin area, South Bay of Bengal, some more parts of central Bay of Bengal and some parts of northeast Bay of Bengal today.
"The conditions are also likely to become favourable for further advance of southwest Monsoon over some more parts of South Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Maldives and Comorin area; some parts of Lakshadweep area, Tamilnadu; some more parts South & Central Bay of Bengal, North Bay of Bengal and some parts of Northeastern states during the same period," the statement from the RMC read.
