Tamil Nadu Cabinet Reshuffle: MK Stalin's Son Udhayanidhi Stalin Picked As Deputy CM; Check Swearing-In Time
Udhayanidhi Stalin, a prominent figure in Tamil Nadu politics and cinema, has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister. This decision was made by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin during a significant Cabinet reshuffle on September 28, 2024. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for September 29, 2024, at Raj Bhavan at 3:30 PM.
In addition to his current roles, Udhayanidhi will now manage the Planning and Development portfolio. This information was confirmed in an official statement from Raj Bhavan. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Stalin has proposed the inclusion of former Minister V. Senthilbalaji and others into the Council of Ministers, which Governor R.N. Ravi has approved.

Cabinet Reshuffle Details
Several changes have been made within the Cabinet. Dr. K. Ponmudy will transition from Higher Education to Forests Ministry. Siva V. Meyyanathan will now oversee Backward Classes Welfare instead of Environment and Climate Change. These adjustments reflect strategic shifts within the government.
R.S. Rajakannappan is set to take charge of Milk and Dairy Development along with Khadi responsibilities. Additionally, N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj will assume the role of Minister for Human Resources Management, while Dr. M. Mathiventhan will replace her as Minister for Adi Dravidar Welfare.
New Roles and Responsibilities
The Finance portfolio remains with Thangam Thennarasu, who also gains responsibility for Environment and Climate matters. These changes aim to streamline operations within the government and ensure effective management across various sectors.
Meanwhile, T. Mano Thangaraj, Gingee K.S. Masthan, and K. Ramachandran have been removed from their ministerial positions in this reshuffle process. This move indicates a shift in priorities within the administration as it seeks to address emerging challenges.
