Tamil Nadu: After BSP Chief Armstrong's Murder, Now NTK Functionary Hacked To Death

Even as the ruling DMK government facing criticism from the opposition parties over the murder of Tamil Nadu BSP Chief Armstrong's brutal murder, similar incident has occurred in the state as Balasubramanian, Deputy Secretary of Naam Tamilar Katchi's Madurai-North division, was hacked to death.

Balasubramanian attacked and killed during his morning walk on Vallabai Street in Madurai on Tuesday. Known as 'Punk' Bala, he was a history-sheeter with a record of three murder cases, according to police sources.

Balasubramanian, a resident of Sellur area in Madurai, was attacked by unidentified assailants wielding weapons, including sickles. Despite attempting to flee, he was chased down and fatally assaulted in the Vallabhai Road vicinity near State Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan's residence.

Rushed to a nearby private hospital, Balasubramanian succumbed to his injuries upon arrival.

Police suspect the murder stemmed from a longstanding feud and are investigating the incident accordingly. Madurai Police Commissioner Loganathan personally inspected the crime scene and initiated further inquiries into the case.

However, the incident has now given an opportunity to target the Stalin government over the law and order issue in the state.
