PM Modi In Tamil Nadu Launches Major Infrastructure Projects Worth Rs 4,900 Crore
Prime Minister Modi launched projects valued at Rs 4,900 crore in Thoothukudi, focusing on infrastructure and energy to boost Tamil Nadu's economic growth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently unveiled and initiated development projects in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, valued at over Rs 4,900 crore. These projects cover crucial sectors like airports, highways, railways, ports, and power. The event marked a significant step in enhancing the region's infrastructure and economic growth.
During the ceremony, a new terminal building at the airport was inaugurated. This state-of-the-art facility spans 17,000 square meters. Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thenarasu presented a memento to Prime Minister Modi. Other dignitaries present included Social Welfare Minister P Geetha Jeevan and Lok Sabha MP Kanimozhi.

Infrastructure and Energy: Key Growth Drivers
Prime Minister Modi highlighted the vital role of infrastructure and energy in state development. He stated that these sectors are crucial for any state's progress. "Our focus on these areas over the past 11 years underscores our dedication to Tamil Nadu's advancement," he noted.
Reflecting on his visit to Thoothukudi, PM Modi expressed gratitude for visiting the sacred land of Lord Rameshwar after his foreign trip. He mentioned his previous engagements in Tamil Nadu's development, including laying foundation stones for significant projects last year.
International Trust in India
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi paid tribute to Kargil heroes on Kargil Vijay Diwas. He also spoke about India's growing international stature. "Recently, during my UK visit, India signed a historic Free Trade Agreement with the UK," he said. This agreement reflects global trust in India.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence in building a developed Tamil Nadu and India with this trust. "With blessings from Lord Rameshwar and Thiruchendur Murugan, a new development chapter is being written in Thoothukudi," he remarked.
Continued Commitment to Development
PM Modi reiterated his commitment to Tamil Nadu's growth by inaugurating projects worth Rs 4,800 crore. He congratulated the people of Tamil Nadu for these initiatives. The projects aim to boost regional development and improve living standards.
