Stalin Transfers Rs 5,000 To Tamil Nadu Women

MK Stalin recently announced that his government credited ₹5,000 each to 1.31 crore women beneficiaries under the scheme.

The Chief Minister stated that the lump sum transfer was made to prevent disruption of the monthly assistance ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He accused the BJP of attempting to halt the scheme during the Model Code of Conduct period, but said his government ensured uninterrupted financial support.

The Rs 5,000 credited includes:

• Rs 3,000 covering February, March, and April monthly assistance (₹1,000 per month)
• Rs 2,000 as a special summer component

Stalin also reiterated that if his government returns to power, the monthly assistance would be increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000.
